ONTARIO GOVERNMENT FUNDS KINGSTON ACCOMODATION PARTNERS $ 41,000 Investment to promote Fall experiences in Kingston and The Islands KINGSTON – The Kingston Accommodation Partners will undertake a marketing project with financial assistance from the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation to promote the uniqueness of Kingston and The Islands, MPP John Gerretsen announced today on behalf of Jim Bradley, Minister of Tourism. “Our government is working with tourism industry organizations across the province to create new marketing campaigns to increase tourist visits and spending in Ontario,” said Gerretsen “This partnership with Kingston Accommodation Partners and the Kingston Economic Development Corporation will increase the number of visitors to Kingston and The Islands and generate economic activity for our residents and local businesses. The Kingston Accommodation Partners will receive $41,000 to promote fall experiences in Kingston. The project is a partnership between the Kingston Accommodation Partners and the Kingston Economic Development Corporation. The investment builds upon the current summer campaign that was targeted to the GTA and promoting mid-week getaways to Kingston. The program will promote the unique characteristics of Kingston including its shopping, easy walking access to all amenities, Victorian architecture, and cultural attractions. The project elements consist of print advertising in the Ottawa citizen, radio and TV ads, magazine ads in Readers Digest and Ottawa Life and Transit advertising in the Ottawa area. These grants from the ministry’s agency, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, are designed to encourage new and joint marketing opportunities with the province to improve Ontario’s economy through increased tourism revenues. This financial assistance to Ontario tourism marketing organizations will help develop Ontario as a four-seasons destination, while increasing the number of visitors and the length of their stay. – 30 – |
