The City of Kingston’s transportation initiative will help residents and tourists make their way around the city using more sustainable modes of transportation.
The transportation demand management plan will address the entire community of Kingston but will focus on the city’s downtown core. The development of the strategy will include:
- research and consultations to identify key opportunities
- a mid-term plan for major transportation initiatives
- recommendations for short-term actions to demonstrate successful initiatives and build valuable partnerships.
The project is funded through the Ontario Transportation Demand Management Municipal Grant Program. It supports municipal programs that help reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions by making it more attractive to use alternatives to driving alone.
